Alas, this is a neglected section here, partly because most visitors probably aren’t coming to Vienna for a game of badminton. But we do have two nice ideas if you fancy a bit of open-air ice skating:
Your first option from October to March is at the Eislauf-Verein rink next to the Konzerthaus.
The other, more picturesque alternative, is the Wiener Eistraum, from January to March. The square and park in front of the Rathaus is transformed into a series of rinks and iced paths, with music, lights and a wide mix of food and drink to suit all tastes. In 2016, a mini version of the Eistraum was built into the Christmas market.
