Broad policy summary
As a purely informational website, I do not require or acquire any personal information from you with the following commonplace exceptions:
- I use Google Analytics to track usage at the site so I can optimise content development. However, this data is anonymised and no longer retained after 14 months
- I have affiliate partners, but do not allow them to place cookies or use code that records personally identifiable information while you are at Visiting Vienna. If you feel this is not the case, please let me know (I’m not a techie). If you follow a link to such a partner (a graphical ad or a link marked * that typically includes code identifying Visiting Vienna as the referring site), you then of course become subject to the destination website’s cookie and data protection policies and practices
- If you send me an email, I will retain your communication until such time as you ask me to delete it
- One or two pages feature ads provided by Google through their AdSense programme. These are non-personalised at this site, which means ads are not based on your interests, demographics, and Google Account information, and the AdSense implementation does not collect visitation information from this site to create interest categories. FYI you can manage Google’s use of personalized ads on websites you visit by going here.
